ABOUT
WHO WE ARE
Powered by EA - Environmental Action, PLASTEAX has been imagined by a group of sustainability experts specialized on plastic pollution and data. Coming from the Life Cycle Thinking, we have been at the forefront of developing methodologies to account for waste, access its impact, and integrate it into decision-making frameworks.
The initial model behind the calculations has been based on UNEP - IUCN National Guidance for Plastic Pollution and Shaping Action.
OUR MISSION
Data is one of the key missing links to solving the plastic pollution crisis. PLASTEAX aims to provide more transparency and increase data quality in the plastic space.

-
Without action, plastic pollution will triple by 2040
-
Many initiatives have emerged to assess, act upon and/or compensate plastic leakage, as well as to promote circularity. All these initiatives need reliable plastic waste management data which are currently missing
-
A world with near zero plastic leakage by 2040, where private and public sector unite efforts and disclose progress in a transparent and accountable way
We believe that transparency, disclosure and accountability, as well as collaboration between public and private sector is essential to success, and that citizens and NGOs have a key role to play in demanding impactful action, now.
OUR VISION
WHO IS PLASTEAX FOR ?
The information accessible on PLASTEAX is intended for a large variety of profiles, from policy makers to concerned citizens, from public to private sector. PLASTEAX datasets can be used by companies to run plastic footprint and/or plastic offsetting projects with the best in class, polymer/application specific data. The same information is also relevant for countries willing to prioritize interventions towards a reduction of plastic leakage into the environment. The synergy between private sector and public sector, illustrated in the bicycle model, is of paramount importance to ride the circularity track and reduce plastic leakage.
